Valerio Sommella was born in Cortona in 1980. He graduated with honors in Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Milano in 2004, the year in which he began his professional career working first with Stefano Giovannoni, in Milan, and later with the team of Marcel Wanders in Amsterdam until 2009, when he returned to Italy and settled in Milan, where he opened his studio. He currently works with Italian and international companies to design objects ranging from lighting, consumer electronics, furniture and products through supermarkets. He also teaches at several Italian universities.
