Born in Sfax, Tunisia in 1959, Tom Dixon is a self-taught industrial designer. His works have been acquired by museums including London’s V&A Museum, the MoMA New York and Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. Tom Dixon’s name really became synonymous with notable industrial design in the 1990’s when he released ‘Jack’ his polyethylene “sitting, stacking, lighting thing” pictured right. Tom is now one of the industry’s most feted British designers and is internationally heralded as a significantly original talent. Tom Dixon credits his two years playing bass guitar in Funkapolitan, for teaching him the fundamentals of creativity.
