Michael Graves (1934-2015) was one of the most prominent and prolific American architects of the latter 20th century. He was one of The New York Five as well as Memphis Group. After earning a degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati in 1958, he enrolled at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. After two years at the American Academy in Rome, Graves settled in New Jersey, joining the Princeton University faculty, where he would spend his entire teaching career and opening his practice.
