Kristina Isola is an accomplished Finnish textile designer and daughter of Maija Isola, textile design hero for Marimekko who created the iconic Unikko (poppy) pattern. Kristina began to sketch fabric prints at the age of sixteen, assisting her mother and joined Marimekko in 1964 at the age of 18. The pair went on to design under the joint name Maija Isola/Kristina Isola collaborating and expanding on Maija’s designs. Kristina designs her own fabric prints and is also responsible for new colourways of Maija Isola’s designs and the adaptation of their patterns to suit different products.
