Dieter Rams (b. 1932) is a German Industrial Designer, most notable for his work for Braun. Rams studied architecture and interior decoration at Wiesbaden School of Art and also undertook a carpentry apprenticeship. After graduation he worked for architect Otto Appel in Frankfurt before joining Braun in 1955 as an architect and interior designer. From 1961 to 1995 Dieter Rams was head of design at Braun, working closely with Dietrich Lubs. Together they produced some of the better examples of Functionalist design. Their designs made Braun a household name from the1950s.
