Argentinian born Alejandro Ruiz graduated from Industrial Design UNLP, Argentina in 1984  before moving to Milan, Italy to study a Masters degree at Domus Academy. He worked as a designer for Alessandro Mendini at Studio Alchimia and Pierluigi Cerri at Gregotti Associatti International. Studio Ruiz Sas was founded in1994.  The design practice works across product design, visual communication and interior design producing work for Electrolux, Venini, Alessi, Authentics, 3M, Fiat-Alfa Romeo, Fiannini, Ikea and many others. His parmenide cheese grater designed for Alessi is part of the Permanent Design Collection at MoMA in New York.
