Kyocera (pronounced Key-O-Sarah) was founded in Kyoto, Japan in 1959 by Dr. Kazuo Inamori and 28 colleagues who shared a vision of creating a company dedicated to manufacturing high-tech products based on ceramic materials and components. Today, Kyocera is the world’s largest and highest quality manufacturer of advanced, innovative ceramic products, including ceramic cutlery and kitchen tools and in 1984, was one of the first companies to develop and market the zirconia ceramic knife.
