Eero Aarnio (b.1932) is a Finnish
designer renowned for his innovative furniture designs in the 1960’s. Aarnio studied at the Institute of Industrial
Arts in Helsinki before founding his design studio in 1962. His plastic and fibreglass chairs; the Ball
(1963), the Pastil (1968), and the Bubble (1968); have become icons of the era
and are included in collections across the globe including MoMA, Victoria and
Albert Museum in London and Vitra Design Museum.
